I found some sketches of work not realized. After 45 years of making mobiles it was time to check in with my ideas. I looked back in my collection of old sketch books. From a 1986 book, I did a series of drawings based on these ideas, using my current alphabet of shapes and compositions, showing depth by varying the size and overlapping the zoomorphic shapes. By adding a "grid" I framed each drawing in space. For the mobiles, I chose metal as the medium, black as the color, and "room" size as the size. Some of the compositions became stabiles: mobiles suspended from a base.
